The Black Belt Technical Committee shall be presided by the Chief Director of the International Shotokai Federation, and its membership constituted by one representative of each country’s association ascribed to ISF.

The requirements to become a member of the Technical Committee of Black Belts, are the following:

  • Being 30 years of age or older.

  • Holding an ISF recognized Black belt with a minimum rank of 5th Dan.

  • Being an active member of the Board of Directors of one of the member countries’ Associations.

  • Holding a minimum 15 year-experience as an active karate do instructor.

  • Having represented ISF or its represented organization, on a competition role.

  • Having displayed and held throughout his or her career, a code of honorable conduct, within the definition of good behavior as established in these presents.

 

The Black Belt Technical Committee, holds the following duties:

  • Advising and counseling ISF’s Director as to the technical guidelines, teaching methods, sporting events planning, member grading and incoming applicant’s validations, to be carried out under ISF rules.

  • Carrying out and supervising all validation processes, concerning any incoming applicants versed on other styles or formed at different schools, who have submitted to becoming a member ISF.

  • Submitting a written report addressing in detail the results of the validation process, covering of all aspects and areas regulated under Section II, Articles 11 to 14 to that effect. The report shall indicate unequivocally the committee’s consensus on: i.- ranking and grading of the examinee; ii.- verified actual and true technical level under ISF’s standards, and iii.- personal assessment about the applicant, including notes, feedback and recommendations, as to suitability under ISF behavioral, physical and mental standards.

  • Submit suggestions to ISF’s Director, regarding the advisability or lack thereof on all cases of: i.- admission to membership of new schools, organizations or dojos, and ii.- suspension, exclusion or expulsion of any member based on disciplinary reasons or for any other applicable cause as prescribed by these presents.
